Gearing Up For Winter

The days are getting frostier as we draw towards the winter season. Not the best time for most of us who get up early in the morning but fear not just because its cold doesn’t mean you can’t look fab 

 So today I’m going to share a few ways you can make your winter rock. Who says the cold season should be dull with piles of gloomy colored clothes, big yawns when you get up in the morning and drag yourself throughout the day. 

Here are a few ways in which you can give yourself the boost. 

 1.Try to sleep early and ensure you wake up early as well so that you are one step ahead in school, work and everywhere else. 

 2.Motivate yourself and make a playlist on your phone or iPod of music that will get you dancing in the morning.

 3. Most people think that Bright colours are only for summer because they have their way of just smiling on you but including these for winter wear will help you spread that vibe when it’s cold, be super stylish this winter and don’t hide behind piles of clothing.

 4 .A nice pair of tick stockings will come in handy when you want t wear that short sexy dress with a pair of boots.

 5.My favorite thing to use at home whilst I’m enjoying a nice movie is my Hot Water bottle, this baby always keep me warm and its very cost effective way to keep warm at night. 

6.Two or three berets will give a sexy look when paired well ,so go all out and get yourself one if you don’t already have. 

Winter is a part of us and no matter how much you complain it’s here and it’s coming back every year.

Holiday Reminisce

Well back to work ,Its All over ! The holiday season of 2015 is now History and 2016 is Upon us .
I
 look at the pictures in my phone and i realize that a year has come and the holidays are done.

Everyone is back at work,Schools are about to open and the next couple of weeks almost everyone will be doing their own thing trying to get back in the work mood.

My holiday was just what i needed having had gone away in November to a Safari lodge ,December was the perfect time to catch up with some serious TV Time and i did exactly that.


The past 2 weeks have been a cycle of Waking up ,Cleaning the house,Bathing and then Watch TV whilst i ate with the few exceptions where i left the house to visit a friend( Just because i needed an excuse to wear something else other than my PJ's) but ended up watching TV LOL

It wouldn't have been complete without the Christmas Movies though (some of them a bit Cheesy) i still loved them  all the same.

I would have loved to have one more week (hahahah) but its back to work for me ,although i am  only 2 Hours into the first day ,It feels good to be back .

 I arise in the morning torn between a desire to improve the world and a desire to enjoy the world.This makes it hard to plan the day 

.

We love Music

Anyone who truly knows me (and i mean truly knows me) will tell you that my life without Music would be all but a waste.

Every genre seems to have one or more tracks that really do it for me.They are days when i want to pray and my spirit is down but soon as i put my earphones in play some Hill song all my sorrows seem to disappear.

Almost every song i have has an emotion and a memory tied to,which is why i rarely go with the masses when it comes to going crazy over songs ,i like to attach a memory to a song though some songs just Hit you when they come out.

Misheard Lyrics Part 2

Music makes the world go round and is a universal language but then all we have that one friend(maybe its you) on  a  night out a song comes on and they start belting out the Lyrics and they are definitely not the corrects but they already in their zone.

Its so funny to watch and hear but then you start to think,What are the actual words ?

With that in mind here  are some of my   ridiculously funny misheard lyrics

I wont even attempt writing  what i heard and still continue to hear  because each time i seem to hear something new(Hope I am  not the only one).

Well what can i say love him so much but some song i just mumble the words and act cool about it. 

I honestly think that 40% of the songs i think i know,i might not know them as well i would like ,but oh well that wont stop me from singing in the shower (ha-Ha) but  I'm sure my family  would appreciate some peace (Haha)

Festive Movies

 The festive season would not be complete for my family and i if we don't get to watch  the below movies.This wasn't intentionally done ,but over the years we realised we that  always seem to watch these movies over the holidays,even if we are in different parts of the world our hearts are always in tune

Every family has it won traditions and i have found out that TV unifies us,we might have different taste in music,food and fashion but when it comes to seating down and watching a good movie ,we always agree on that and this makes up The Dube Christmas Tradition and i wouldn't change it for anything(Maybe a holiday in Rome Ha-Ha)

So as this Christmas draws closer i look forward to having a fun filled holiday.The year has had it's ups and Downs but with the dawning of a new day is hope renewed and Christmas is just the right time to fuel up, for The Best Is Yet To Come.

New Age Texting

With the coming of the dawn comes a new era and i must say though i appreciate texting  the amount of shorting words that is now going round is just too much (Maybe I'm getting old) but i highly doubt it.


These days people don't even bother to text properly ,and it just seems to be getting worse .
Acronyms have always been an integral part of computer culture,and they have since spawned a new language.Commonly thought of a series of letters that make up a "word"  but there is a very big difference between acronyms and shorthand.

Words like ASAP (As soon as Possible) are examples of what an acronyms actually are, not some the things i have seen.

Below are  just some of the MOST Annoying!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!(totally hate them ) Conversation starters,Mostly from guys(Major Turnoff)

1. WUD( What you doing) like seriously how lazy are you to text

5. Sup( Whats up) This just annoys me

7. Now this on freaking irritates me to the core(HBD) Happy Birthday ( Like seriously WTF) if your going to wish me Happy Birthday in this manner Please don't. 

In my option if your too lazy to text please just stick to calling because after a long day at work dealing with more pressing issues  i seriously don't want to spend my night your decoding   texts 

Just Do It!!

It truly is a wonderful life ,the complexities and trials we face each day make the fight all worth while.

You can not be effectively  freed from a crisis or situation if you simultaneously use it as an excuse .

When you are presented with an opportunity to elevate /grow yourself don't think of  start of by thinking of what you cant do ,or think of how you will fail ,rather think of what you will learn from it and how best you can use it to get further to your goals.

 Your circumstances or crisis shouldn't be a reason (excuse) to under perform ,rather it should be the driving force to push through and conquer.

I have been presented with a new opportunity and with all that is within i plan to enjoy it and learn ,but above all i am truly grateful 

Face the facts but don't be deterred.Have a defiant spirit ,lift up head,open your eyes,trust and obey God.

EMOTIONS

We try so hard to convince ourselves that we have our Emotions  in check but at times that's not the case. I've come to realize that being stuck in an emotions prison is the worst feeling ever. That moment when you still have strong  feelings for  someone and you try so hard to convince yourself that things will get back to were they were that's when you realise that your stuck and if you don't free your self you will miss out on the good things life has to offer. For months I was a prisoner of my own emotions and  finally I saw  the light.

No matter how much you to try and convince someone that you're the one for them if they do not  agree with you, your best years will be spent trying to be someone you're not so you can please them. The best way to escape this emotional  prison is to love yourself enough to know when to walk away. I plan to enjoy life with those that appreciate me for who I am and to open myself up to allow love to come in.

Warm Drinks For Cold Winter Days

The cold days of winter  call for us to keep  warm and for hot drinks.When making warm drinks its important to pre-heat the glass or cup  so as to really  enjoy  the warmth of your desired drink.You can do this by  pouring hot water in your glass/cup before you make the drink of your choice,some like to place their cup in the microwave for a minimum of 1 minute.

 Hot  coffee / Hot  Chocolate are the most famous Winter drinks.

Bought My First Car

One of  my Goals on my 101 Challenge was to buy  a car. It seemed  a bit  unreachable because Zimbabwe is a country where cars  re bought  on Cash basis or  in  some cases you pay  three quarters of  the full amount  then  get  your  car.

On the 14 of  February however  I managed to put  down  a down payment  on the car  that  I wanted A Nissan March and that to me was the best Valentine's gift I gave myself. A  month later I paid the full  amount  and now I can safely say my car  is paid for  in full.

I named it  Val short for Valentine since  I paid for it  on  Valentine's.I'm so proud of myself  and now my  goals and dreams are  now higher  than ever because I know that  with patience and good Money saving anything  is possible.

Winter Must Have's

Winter is one of the seasons that most  of us dread.It comes once a year and yet almost every year people go for winter shopping, Million dollar question is: What happened to the ones you had last  year?  

Below is a list of winter Must haves that will keep you warm this winter

1. Lace-up Boots For women. Ladies you can never go wrong this winter with these boots. Perfect for work and works well with those blues skinny jeans on a night out with the girls.
2. Gloves are a must have this winter, black is great color for the office and work very well with any outfit.
3. Scarfs- a great way to keep your neck warm this winter.
4. Socks-I personally feel that when my feet are cold my concentration span becomes very low so this winter I have invested in lots and lots socks to keep  my feet warm.
5. Leggings
6. Comfortable Jeans-with a pair of two of comfortable jeans you will never go wrong this winter.
7. Coats-Make sure you buy a coat that makes a statement .gone are the days were black coats were the norm for winter, this season be daring and buy those bold colors that bring your personality.

Loving Winter

Keeping warm this winter.

Winter is that time of year that some of us dread  and lately , i have been thing about some of  the things one can love or decide to hate about  winter 

Below is a list of some of the things i love about Winter 

• An excuse to drink rooibos tea all day long(yeahhhhh)
• Lots of winter Chocolates to go round
• Long days and shorts nights argggggggggg (i love my  sleep) 
• layers- Morning are very very cold and ones need to be warm when leaving the house and what better way to ensure your warm.wearing a sweater over your shirts,wearing your tights under your trousers and lastly wearing a huge coat over all that.(This is love) 
• Movie sessions-During winter everyone wants to stay warm and watching with a little blanket and the heater/fire on will ensure everyone  stays warm this winter.
• Getting Fat-in winter for some odd reason you  find  yourself eating more and thus some people gain lots of weight and when summer comes your  forced to go to the gym.
• Being late for work:because day are long and night are short , I've found myself being late to work a couple of time simply because the bed is to warm(have now set my watch ten minutes ahead) 

So this winter stay warm and enjoy winter 

Goal 60 on my 101 goals in 1001 days challenge

Travelling  to Kenya had always been a dream of mine since i can remember and on the 1st of April 2012 i got the opportunity to go there.

Kenya is an amazing  country  so  rich in  culture and with amazingly friendly people.My stay was not a long  as i had hoped but in the next  two  months i will be going  back  for a month a more and in that month  i plan to travel  and embrace the beautiful nation and the culture that makes it  Africa's Heart of Hospitality'

The Game

Weekends are  an amazing time to either have Me time,Family time or Girls Time,this weekend i managed to do all of  the above  and it  was amazing.

Friday night after work met  u with my  girl  Daniela Nieuw hadn't seen her  in a while so we had chat over  drinks.

Saturday  was family time  i was able to attend my cousin bridal shower and got  to meet  the family and had a nice time because my family doesn't  meet that often  so i know i wont be having family time any time soon (extended Family i mean .

Sunday was now Me  and also got  to Family time (Siblings) and this was the highlight of my weekend.

We bought  the 3rd season of The Game and i can safely safe that buying that DVD was money well spent.

 I would like to say  that the Game to me is by far one of the best shows on TV ,a lot  of shows make life seem easy and great  all the time  but watching this it really shows that sometimes the people we seem to think have it  all actually are  not that happy.

1. Melanie and Derwin -in this season their relationships had up and downs,with Derwin making his ex pregnant this didn't make things easier for them  even though they  get  married  season 4 look like it will be more challenging  for them .
2. Tasha Mack and Malik Wright  they  have an amazing mother and son relationship ,they know when to be professional and hen to be emotional.and i look forward to watching these two  in season 4.
3. Jason and Kelly Pitts-they seem to have it all  Jason captain of the Sandi ago sabers ,they have  a little girl big  house and they seem happy ,but  in season 3 Kelly divorces Jason because she is not  happy.this relationship clearly shows that sometime in  life having money is no guarantee for  happiness.

 I really  enjoyed watching the Game after  a long  time, i learnt a lot   on love, life  and about all  the small little things that  make life bearable even if the odds are against  you.
